GAELTACHT GHAZALS

XXXVII

athena didn't bother to get dressed
she looked at me and said:

never laugh at a man who writes
there's something noble about failure

now go back to the fire
and let the riddles of the world solve themselves

the distressed do bestial things
and we all lose interest in each other eventually

it is merciful that we do not know the story of our lives
no one is that hard

most fisherman don't eat fish
and can't swim
